Closing Our Seed Round at $1.6M With iNovia Capital

Today we are proud to announce the closing of our $1.6M Seed round. iNovia Capital led the financing and will be working with us through our next stage of growth to support our mission of eliminating cyberbullying from the social web.

As of today, we service communities spanning 195 countries worldwide and are under contract to process 4 billion messages a day. We chose iNovia Capital because they understand the vision of what we are trying to achieve, both from a business and a global impact perspective.

“Our team is doing something nearly impossible: creating a troll-free internet,” said Chris Priebe, CEO of Two Hat and Creator of Community Sift. “We chose iNovia because we believe in what they bring to the table. We’ve already been able to achieve great things with our current scale, but we need to do significantly more if we are going to seriously put a dent in cyberbullying and hate speech. With iNovia’s help, we will be the go-to solution to create healthy online communities.”

Today also marks the beginning of a new chapter for our company, with the debut of our new look-and-feel. We launched brand new versions of our websites at twohat.com and communitysift.com, and over the coming months, we will continue to focus on making the look-and-feel even better across all of our products.

We are committed to building the best protection and automation solutions for social products. With this new funding, we plan to continue improving our product to give our clients the very best platform for shaping healthy online communities at scale.

Two Hat Selected to Attend C100 “48 Hours in the Valley”

Two Hat is pleased to have been selected as one of Canada’s top 20 startup companies invited to be a part of the C100 “48 Hours in the Valley”. This semi-annual mentorship program offers unparalleled access to programming, mentorship, and networking in Silicon Valley.

The C100 is a non-profit, member-driven association that supports Canadian technological companies through partnership, mentorship, and investment. The C100 members are “some of the most influential minds in the ecosystem including some top VC’s, investors and entrepreneurs who are passionate about leveraging their experience, expertise and relationships.” During this event, the C100 members will help connect, mentor, and grow Canadian innovative companies. The goal is a more connected, informed, and empowered Canadian startup community.

“This event comes at a perfect time for us. The market has never been so keen on finding a solution for cyberbullying and online harassment and the Valley is the place to be,” says Two Hat’s CEO, Chris Priebe.

“We already have incredible traction and have made an impression, but being able to be a part of this event should blow the top off what we are doing. Coincidentally during this event, we will be launching our series A and adding $5M to help solve many online chat issues including that of cyberbullying.”

The theme of the December 2015 event is “Business Development and Growth,” where Two Hat, along with the other selected companies, will have the opportunity to:

  • Receive mentorship from the C100 members and partner networks
  • Meet with high-profile VCs and other potential investors
  • Build our connection to the startup community in the Silicon Valley
  • Network with other Canadian startups in similar growth stages
